Appearance
Birch stands 5’ 7” tall, and weighs 125 pounds. Her weight is not fat weight, but rather pure muscle. She has dark brown (almost black) hair that extends mid-back, and gets lighter as it gets longer. She is slender, and she has a slight hourglass shape to her body.
Birch’s skin is slightly tan, and she suntans very easily. She has no scars or blemishes to speak of.
Birch has dark brown eyes and long eyelashes, making her eyes easily one of her best features. Her lips look slightly pouty when her mouth is closed, and her teeth are white and straight. She has no piercings, since her economic situation does not give her the resources to pay for a piercing.
She has a heart-shaped locket that is a music box that she wears at all times. The tune is "Ave Maria", and she listens to it when she needs comfort.

Personality
Birch doesn’t like to take no for an answer, and can be pushy when people try to resist her. She is very extroverted, and is “on” all the time. She loves receiving praise, and reacts negatively to criticism, even if it’s constructive. She hates being ignored, being laughed at, and being “one-upped”. She is a perfectionist, and tries to be the best at everything she does. She can be slightly self-centered and proud, but it’s because she genuinely hates being anything but the best. She can be competitive, and is impulsive. She doesn’t like the monotony of her daily life, and wishes she could be somewhere where she is free from structured routine. She has a hot temper, and it flares up quickly if things aren’t going her way.
On the plus side, she is a friendly and warm person once you get to know her. She treasures her friends and family, and would do virtually anything for them. She is brave, and is not afraid of getting dirty. She enjoys being outside and doing physical things. She is generous, enthusiastic, and has a very open mind about things that are unfamiliar to her.
When not in school, she enjoys reading, jogging, and hanging out with friends. She is also an apprentice under her mother, who is a carpenter. She is strong due to using tools and lifting wood, but she is not a very fast runner. She can jog, but sprinting is her Achilles’ heel. She also cannot swim.
Birch may be brave, but the idea of The Hunger Games terrifies her.

History
Birch was born on July 31 and is 16 years old. Her father is a lumberjack, and her mother is a carpenter. She also has a brother named Ash that is 19 years old. She had as normal of a childhood as she could in District Seven, and grew up under two hard-working parents, a trait that rubbed off on her. She grew up watching The Hunger Games, and was always afraid of either her or Ash getting selected at The Reaping. When Ash turned 19, it was a great relief to her that he would be safe. Ash is very protective of Birch, and she is very close to him.

RP Sample
Birch laid on her bed, and looked out the dusty window at the sky. It was a clear, sunny day. Normally, Birch would be outside enjoying the weather, but not today. Today was the Reaping. Ash undoubtedly would have his name in there more than majority of the other kids in District 7. He’s 18; it was a miracle he’s gone this long without getting his name pulled out. Birch was eligible too, but she was more worried about the family's tertiary breadwinner being taken away. She was too young to have a full-time job, and didn't have time for one.
“Birch, get dressed!” Birch's mother said when she looked into her room and noticed she wasn’t dressed yet. Birch slid off her bed and walked over to the wardrobe, shedding her clothes as she walked. She pulled out her favorite knee-length white dress and slipped into it quickly. She added a tasteful black belt, and slipped her feet into some black flats.
“Good, you’re dressed. Let’s do your hair.” Her mother said as she passed by her room again. Birch followed her into the kitchen, where she seated her on a stool and pulled her hair into French braids. Neither of them speak, both worried about the Reaping.
The Evinrude family walked to the square in complete silence, and Birch felt as if she would never be happy again. She heard kids laughing in the distance, and wondered how they could be happy today. Birch saw the worried looks on people’s faces as she passed by, and I know they’re waiting as long as they can to leave their homes, hoping to squeeze in a few last moments with their families before they might get torn apart.
