Appearance:
Diamond has culy dark red hair with blond highlights that falls to her shoulders. Her eyes are a bright blue, like the sky on a clear summer day. She is 5"3 and very skinny and light. She was always well fed, but maintained a workout schedule. She likes to wear a simple plain tunic and black jeans, with her assortment of jeweled bracelets, of course! Her friends always wore expensive dresses and shirts that were designed for them only. Diamond didn't do that.
Di has always been very pale. She looks as if she's never seen the sun and lives in District 12, despite the hair color. Di does not like to wear the makeup her mother always buys and tries to put on her. Di likes to wear her lace-up leather boots out, but likes to be barefoot most of the time. She likes to let her loose curls dangle at her side without using any products that most people do in her district. Most people look at her funny when she walks through District One with nothing fancy and expensive on her except her thirteen diamond bracelets. (One for each birthday.) Di is used to this and quite likes it because it proves that she looks quite different from everybody else. She also has a little scar in the shape of an arrow across her right forearm which people at school mock her about.
Personality:
Diamond is very adventurous. She always wondered what was beyond District One. Were there hunters? Traders? Peacemakers? She wanted to know. Her parents always wanted for her to win the Hunger Games and she did too, but she did not want to be classified as a 'Career'. Di didn't have the personality like the Careers. She depends on her own strength and skill instead of her parents' money and wealth.
Di had never really enjoyed her parents wealth. She didn't want to lean on her parents every time she was in a sticky situation, like most Careers do. She wanted to be in the Hunger Games to prove herself better than the other rich kids that go to her school. Di even applied for tesserae to get her name in the reaping more than the usual times for 'Careers'. Her parents would sometimes take her to a cabin the bought in a safe part of forest, approved by the Capitol to train for the Games. She would go hunting and fight off imaginary tributes.
Di is fast and light, but she is curious. That was one of the bad things about her. She was so curious sometimes she ended up being in a difficult situation. She tells herself over and over that , Curiosity killed the cat but it never sunk in. Because of that she always called herself 'Diamond the Cat'. She was as sly as one and as curious.Whenever Di puts her mind to something, she never stops until she reaches her goal. Her kindness and fierceness show through a lot.
History:
Diamond was born to Leather and Opal Hunter on Feburary 14, 1998. Leather is the owner of wealthy baking shop (passed down from his mother) that he has owned since he was twenty-five. Opal worked in a jewelry store that her mother used to shop at all the time. Ever since Di learned to walk, her parents trained her for the Hunger Games. From throwing sticks in to pillows, or slashing open a vase with her safety sword.
Diamond was always watching the Hunger Games. She would watch them on the television to see how they worked and how the tributes reacted, and when they were over her parents would take her to the arena for a tour and they would reenact the scenes of the most famous deaths.
When Di turned ten years old she got a white and brown longhaired cat that she named Dande after the dandelions she always looked forward to. She got Dande (male) for her birthday instead of another bracelet encased in diamonds and a new weapon. She had ten diamond bracelets now. (Her parents still gave her one with Dande.)
The day Diamond turned twelve her family had a celebration. They had a grand feast with all of her favorite dishes like Cream and Rose Petal soup. The reaping was coming up and her parents trained her harder than ever for what might come. After the training, they saw that Di was a fast runner and a good shot with knives and arrows. That year she was not chosen at the Reaping. She told herself that the next year, she would get tesserae in hopes of getting Reaped. And getting the tesserae was exactly what she did.
