Isn't nothing something you can do?

Nothing is the absence of something, so you would not be doing anything, correct?

That's like saying that black is a colour even though it's the absence of colour or cold is the absence of heat, right?

Is black the absence of colour because when there is no light you see black and you must have light to see colours?

Yes, that is correct, but if you get a black pencil, it shows up on a white piece of paper, right?

Couldn't the same be argued for a black piece of paper and a white coloured pencil?

Yes, but most colored pencils do not show up on black paper unless they are metallic, right?

Do most coloured pencils show up on darker coloured paper?
