Appearance: Since her whole family was made up of scientists and DNA experts who had the ability to alter their own genes, Amelia is naturally beautiful. Her facial structure is near perfect; a small, but defined nose and sharp cheekbones that give her slim face definition. She has medium length reddish brown hair that lightens in the summer and darkens in the winter. Amelia also has deep reddish brown eyes that sometimes appear to be amber. She is relatively short and extremely thin as well. Arwyn normally has an unfocused expression on her face, while Ophelia can appear to be like Amelia or Arwyn whenever she chooses.

Personality: As Amelia has multiple personalities, she is quite a complex person, so it is best to break her personalities into three parts. All of her personalities do share one thing in common; their indifference toward The Capital, they neither support nor rebel against it, but they all wish to be free from District Five.

Arwyn isn’t the most intelligent person in the world, as a matter of facet she’s far from it. An accurate word to describe her is ditzy. While her intelligence is questionable, her kindness is not. She is one of the sweetest people in all of Panem and is incredibly loyal. Arwyn doesn’t have an ounce of fight or anger in her, and she can sometimes be fairly practical. She never looses her temper and always keeps her word. Arwyn has no recollection of anything that Amelia or Ophelia do, which can be a blessing and a curse.

Ophelia is incredibly intelligent in an almost Sherlock Holmes-esq way. She is very good at noticing things and connecting the dots. Not many people have met Ophelia, or know they have. She is very good at acting and can play the parts of both Amelia and Arwyn with incredible ease. Ophelia operates within shadows and lies, distrust and hate. If there were one word to describe her it would be chaos. She enjoys death and loves inflicting pain. Ophelia has always been this way. When she is being her self she has a deranged look on her face and speaks like she’s mad (which she is.) Ophelia can remember being both Arwyn and Amelia. Also her anger is uncontrollable.

Amelia is a mix of Arwyn and Ophelia. She is intelligent within reason, and has a sharp tongue. Amelia has accepted her situation and isn’t particularly angry about it. She can become quite angry, but most of the time when this happens she either calms down or switches to Ophelia. Amelia can remember both Arwyn and Ophelia.

History: Amelia has a fairly simple history compared to her personalities. She was born and raised in District Five. Her family was middle class, so they had some money, but not a lot. Fortunately for her family, they hadn’t lost anyone to The Games. Her parents were faithful to The Capital, and her siblings followed that tradition, however most of them were too young to understand or even care about politics. Amelia was the second oldest child out of five. She was diagnosed at an early age with Multiple Personality Disorder and everyone in Five knew. However, everyone thought that she only had two personalities; Arwyn and Amelia. Before there was reason to make herself known, Ophelia just disguised herself as either Arwyn or Amelia. One day Amelia was having a disagreement with her family about something and she snapped. Ophelia grabbed a knife of the table and began to slaughter her family, while laughing hysterically. After the deed was done, Ophelia turned the stove burners on, but didn’t light the stove, so that the gas would go through the house. Ophelia then cleaned off the blood from her person and took a bit of time to gather things that she could go to the market with. She took enough time that gas filled the house. As she left, Ophelia lit one of her mothers precious candles and ran from the explosion. The act looked realistic enough, Ophelia was hurt from the explosion, but still alive. She was able to play the part of Arwyn, the part of her that wouldn’t hurt a fly and had no recollection of Amelia well, she even was able to embellish the act with tears coursing down her cheeks from her so called loss. Of course Amelia and Arwyn were both questioned by The Peacekeepers, but since no one knew about Ophelia, she wasn’t questioned. Amelia kept quiet about the whole business, knowing that if she told anyone she’d be killed instantly. Amelia has lived with different families around District Five since the ‘gas explosion’ at her house that killed her family.

1. How did Amelia and Arwyn cope with the loss of her(their?) family? Particularly how does Amelia cope with knowing Ophelia killed them? Does Amelia consider herself at all responsible for their deaths?

2. How do Amelia’s multiple personalities affect her relationships with others? Does Arwyn have different friends than Amelia? Do people in District 5 treat Amelia/Arwyn differently knowing about her multiple personalities? If so, how do Amelia and Arwyn feel about that?

Amelia carried on fairly well, her main problem was knowing that she technically killed them and that tore her apart. She hates Ophelia, but she knows that hurting Ophelia would hurt herself too. She sort of feels responsible because if she wasn't alive Ophelia wouldn't've killed them.

Arwyn was distraught for a long time, but she's learnt to live with it, she doesn't want revenge because she'd never hurt anyone. She's still incredibly distraught and sometimes it shows, but she get's distracted from it easily.


2. How do Amelia’s multiple personalities affect her relationships with others? Does Arwyn have different friends than Amelia? Do people in District 5 treat Amelia/Arwyn differently knowing about her multiple personalities? If so, how do Amelia and Arwyn feel about that?

Everyone who knows about Amelia's MPD treats her with pity and she dislikes it, but deals with it. Amelia is very good at soldiering on, which has helped a bunch in the recent events of her life. Amelia's relationships with people are based on these two facts, she doesn't have anyone to comfort her but everyone is friends with her. She isn't close friends with anyone however because she is afriad that Ophelia will hurt them and because she's not very good at interacting with others. she wants to have close friends, but it never seems to work out.

Arwyn doers have different friends that Amelia because she can't remember Amelia's friends, she is also better with people and has a few close friends.

Yes, they treat her with pity and they're always helping her, it get's on Amelia's nerves, but Arwyn doesn't mind it.

1. How does Amelia feel about her appearance, knowing that her genes were altered to make her beautiful? It doesn't bother her at all really, she accepted that at a really young age, Arwyn shy about it, and Ophelia relishes it.

2. You said that Amelia has been staying with various families since her family's death. How many families has she stayed with? Is there a reason she hasn't settled down with just one? Probably about six or seven, mostly the families that knew her family well, she doesn't want to grow to close because she knows Ophelia might kill them

3. How old was Amelia when her family died? Around fifteen.

1. What are Amelia's opinions on Arwyn and Ophelia? Amelia despises being either of them, she hates Ophelia, but knows that she can't do anything about it...there was a brief period where she tried self-harm to stop Ophelia--it didn't work. She tolerates Arwyn as she would a much younger child who is slightly annoying at some times, but you can't really do anything to stop him or her.

2. Is Amelia worried that she may run out of families to stay with? What is her plan if that does happen? Not really, she just starts the loop over again, staying with each family for about a week or two, she hasn't really though about it, but she knows that she should move on and wants to move into her own place eventually.

3. What are Amelia, Arwyn, and/or Ophelia's goals for the future? Do they have any?


Amelia has always been a big planner, she wants things but knows that they will never happen, she really wants to leave five and start over, there is nothing there for her now. Arwyn is sort of the "I'll just go with whatever comes today" kind of person, she doesn't really make plans and if she does she forgets them fairly quickly. Ophelia of course wants to rule the world and stuff....I'm thinking that she will develop a serial killer type attitude....I just have to find her type.....

If Amelia could go through a treatment to cure her multiple personalities? While her parents were still alive she went through a few treatments, but all of them had side effects, like loosing her hair or making her really sick and weak etc, her parents chose to let her deal with it on her own. There was only Arwyn at that point in time, so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Does Amelia blame her DNA being altered on her condition?
Not at all, she's never even thought of it that way.

Would it be a possibility for Ophelia to volunteer for the games? Do Amelia and Arwyn fear that?
It would, but that would require some discussion with the admins, since Ophelia is a psychopath murderer and all. Amelia isn't scared of the games, she accepts that if Ophelia volunteers then whatever happens in inevitable, but she knows that if Ophelia does decide that, there is a high chance of her winning considering, her background. Arwyn is terrified of the games on the other hand, she's never been a fighter, and would never hurt a fly.
