Appearance: Hatchet is tall 6'6, muscler, brod shouldered has a slight hunch when he stands making him look more animal like. Black hair in a close buzz cut. Brown eyes. Long scar up his arm - from a wood cutter accident - that goes from inbetween his middle and ring finger to his mid forarm and missing his ring and pinky finger.

Personality:Compassionate and caring. Pround of himself for enduring so much. Not book smart but street smart. He hates and resents the capitol for what they did to his father. Tends to show off how strong he is in front of peacekeepers to show them not to mess with him.

History:As a little kid in District 7 Hatchet looked up to his father who was all he after his mother died giving birth to his younger brother. Before he had to he would go out with his dad and work with him just so he could be with him then play with his friends to see who could throw an axe the best Hatchey always won. But on the first day Hatchet was working at his job he saw some of his friends running toward the town. "Somethings going on with your dad." one of them said. He ran as fast as he could and then he saw it his dad on his knees in the town square with a gun to his head. Hatchet yelled at the same time the peacekeeper fired. Left alone with his brother Hatchet had to raise him on his own. When he was 15 Hatchet was cutting down a tree when he fit an impurity in the would which caused the blade to glide up Hatchets arms leaving a big gash all the way to about half of his forarm. After everything that has happened to him and only narrowing missing becoming a tribute. Hatchet still holds onto hope.

1. Why would the Peacekeepers be scared or intimidated by Hatchet showing how strong he is? Since they're in charge of the district, why would they not mess with him?

2. Did Hatchet ever figure out why his father was killed? Did he ever even ask anybody?

3. How does Hatchet support himself and his little brother?

1. He was only 10. He went into a deep depression refusing to talk for 3 months. When he did speak he sounded more angry then an average 10 year old.

2. Hatchet was 12 years old and his brother was 7. It filled him with hate and anger towards the Capitol. To this day he is willing to do anything to bring them down.

3. At the last reaping Hatchet had to take tessera which put his name in 20 times. They pulled his name as he walked to the stage someone volenterred in his place it was his best friend who died a brutal death in the arena.




1. Hatchet is bigger then most peacekeepers and they tend to stay clear because it takes to much manpower to take him down in a fight.

2. He has never figured out why and he doesnt want to know all he knows is that the only man he respects is dead.

3. By working all the time and hardly ever being home and taking alot of tessera and even then they are barely getting by.

1. While in his depression he mainly stayed in his room and carved animals out of wood and to this day he still does. The first person he talked to was his best friend Woody and he talked about normal kid stuff but in his voice you can tell till this day he isint quite alright.

2. He didnt want woody to do it he would have rather have went into the arena. He blames the Capitol for his friends death and to cope with it he started carving again only instead of animals he carved people.

3. He has gotten into a few mishaps with some peacekeepers and he has been whipped 3 times publicly and as long as he "behaves" he is fine but he has alot of built up anger.

1. He learned it on his own. Right now he keeps them displaying in the window not knowing what to do with them.

2. Hatchet had a good relationship with both his parents and they all got along. When they were all together he would sit by the fire and listen to his dad tell storys of when he was a boy.

3. When hatchet was 15 he was walking the the town square with woody and he decided to "borrow" a piece of bread. When he put it in his pocket the shopkeeper saw him and called for the peacekeepers so he ran. He was able to out run them for a little bit but then they got him and dragged him back to the square and gave him 7 lashes.

1. When he was getting whipped he was angry at the capital and after he thought it made him a stronger person.

2. He is proud of it. To him it is a sign that he has endured and survived.

3. Nothing he is proud of who he is.

1. Well he doesnt like the fact that he works so hard and yet him and hid brother are barley getting by it makes him feel like a failer.

2. He teaches his brother things that he doesnt already know and shows him how to survive in the district. They get along great better then most brothers do. Sometimes like when he feels they cant get by.

3. Hatchet is a lumberjack because it was the only job he could get that would take him and he works almost all day.

1. He cuts down trees and transports them to various places to be turned into various objects.

2. Well by all day i mean from when he gets out of school till really late.

3. Hatchet and his brother live in a small two bedroom house that they dived between them. It is the same house that they were in with there parents. It has two windows one that looks out towards the forest and one that looks out towards the town where Hatchet puts his carvings. From the outside the house looks like its on its last legs but Hatchet keeps fixing it with the little time he has to spare.

1. Yes he is which is why he keeps fixing the house up.

2. He doesnt like it he would rather be working he doesnt like being indoors much so as a result he has poor grades.

3. He has about 40 he likes to be detailed. He has considered this but he wont know who will take them. He has considered this so he can make more money.

1. His most prized possession is his fathers axe for it is the sole thing he has to remember him by. He got it after his fathers death when he got back to there house he saw it sitting in the corner he went over to it held it and cried.

2. His happiest memory is when he went with his father for the first time to work and he taught him how you can learn alot by cutting wood.

3. He doesnt have as much since Woody died his closest friend now is his friend Ember who lives next door.

Yes he does because it helps him remeber his father.

That day his father taught him how to respect the wood and all living things that give themselves up for our consumtion and how once you disrespect that you will not get good resouses at all.

Yes he enjoys his job alot. He likes that he is outdoors most of the time and the only thing he dislikes is the fact his father is not with him.

Hatchet likes music he listens to it when he works. He likes mainly country.

They are closer then him and woody. She comes over when Hatchet is away and cooks diner for his brother and stays the night sometimes.

Hatchet doesnt know of any other job that is right for him.

He uses the portable music player that Woody told him to look after when he went to the games.

The three of them we all really close friends and Woodys death brought Ember and Hatchet even closer together. They have been friends since they were 4.

He is in love with Ember but he wont show for hes afraid of losing her. His arm is always in pain and he will not tell anyone.
