| Sooooo.............. there is a large ant colony living in this desert muhahahahahahah and yes, 10 bites from those things will put you to sleep, 20 can kill you. And if they're hungry enough, they will drag tributes into their humble abode and eat them. However, they only come out at night. Some of their tunnels have been abandoned. So if you figure it out, you can safely stay out of the scorching heat or terrifying cold in underground caves. However, if you find the ants water source - even better. They are hoarding a huge underwater lake o.O But remember the rules. If they find the water there is no way that they will get out unscathed. This thread will be open but your not allowed to post in the tunnels until Roselyn. So you can be on top of the dried up lake - meadow thing. Get it, got it, good | |

| Soon after Roselyn had found her little pocket of shade, she heard someone screaming nearby. However, she recognized the voice. It wasn't just someone who she could be happy if they died because they were stronger than her, but it was someone that she had helped earlier. It wasn't necessarily a help, just a ‘oh my god run we’re going to die.’ Roselyn figured she should probably leave the girl alone, but curiosity overcame her at what the screaming could be about. She scrambled out of her hiding place and made her way over to Vader. Upon seeing that she was screaming just because of a snake, Roselyn couldn’t help but smirk. Most people thought snakes were terrifying, but Roselyn got over that a while ago. Rolling her eyes, she got up from behind the crest of the dune and grudgingly showed herself. She saw no one there besides Vader which was helpful, but she did realize something else – the snake was poisonous. Roselyn explained to Vader that she wasn’t going to hurt her and that she just needed the venom from the snake. After a while, she killed it, splattered the venom on her darts and the two started talking. Vader and Roselyn ended up getting on famously and they started an alliance.
Roselyn took the two back to her pocket of shade that grew more and more with the setting sun and they got a bit of rest. They stayed there, hidden, in her shade until it just before it grew dark. She had the energy to keep going after resting for a while, but she knew that she would be able to travel faster in the dark. She assumed that she would wake up early in the morning with the scalding heat, so they couldn't go far this night, they both had to rest.
As soon as the sun started to set, the two moved out. They assumed that the Careers would be coming out soon and attempting to kill people in their sleep. At least… that’s what they did normally. Both girls had been forced to watch the games on television. It had been awful to watch at the time, but now they were grateful. They knew the basic strategy of the Careers.
After a bit of running/jogging, the blazing heat turned to a terrible cold. Roselyn ended up taking out her blanket and draping it around her. She and Vader would take turns using it until it grew to a point when they could no longer go through the cold with what thin clothes they were wearing. It was comforting however, that the Careers would be cold as well. But they got the whole cornucopia and who knew what were in all those packs. The darker it got, the more Roselyn and Vader kept hearing this odd scuttling noise. They weren’t sure what it meant because it was so dark until now. The two girls walked out onto a large clearing. The sand wasn’t deep or hard to walk through, it was packed. Night vision was easier here, they could both see a little better, but it was still pretty hard. They heard the scuttling noise here and even louder, but this time they realized with shock that they could see the originating point of the noise – it was large ants. Once she saw them, Roselyn let out a shriek. But when every single ant turned their heads towards her, she fell silent. The ants moved towards her quickly, but what she thought was odd about them was that they couldn’t seem to hear. Roselyn had never seen ants up close enough, but she thought that little ones had eyes. More and more seemed to pop out of the ground and run towards the two children. Looking over at Vader, Roselyn whispered, “I think they think we’re food.”
The ants relentlessly chased them and they started gaining. Roselyn got nipped in the leg a few times. Each of them stung and made her feel drowsy, but she never bled. One was fighting Vader, seemingly biting her furiously and Roselyn carefully took out a poisoned dart and threw it right in between in a chink in its neck.
It went down like a log. Vader was doing a good job of holding it off, but she knew they had to move.
After a short while, the bites were severely slowing the two. “I can’t go much longer.” Roselyn spoke. An awful smell filled the air and the ants started leaving. They couldn’t take the smell. Roselyn spotted a large hole in the ground and she called out to Vader. “In here! Get in here!” She put her and over her nose, blocking out the smell and ventured into the hole. There was a large underground tunnel that led far in both directions. But between her frozen limbs and various bite marks, Roselyn collapsed. She sunk into her blanket and was out before she even had time to wonder if Vader had followed suit or not.

| It had been a snake that had caused Vader to scream yesterday. The one creature she absolutely couldn't stand. She'd slammed her hand over her own mouth within seconds after getting over the initial shock or stepping on a snake. Roselyn showed soon aafter and killed rhe snake, explai ing that she was going to use it's venom on her darts. Vader and Roselyn got along quite well, and became allies. Roselyn led Vader to her little overhang that she'd found on the first day while trying to avoid the carnage of the games and Vader followed; eager to be out of the heat.
Vader woke up about an hour before sunset, she was ready to move, but both girls figured that it would be safer to move under the cover of night. At sunset the two allies set off; moving at a quick pace that wouldn't tire them easily. It was still hot after the sun set, but soon the heat left the ground and the desert turned cold. Vad was slightly warm from running, but she was still shivering. Her lungs burned from taking in the frigid air, and she was more than thankful for the thin jacket that held her body heat. Roselyn took out a blanket and wrapped it around it herself as she ran, about ten minutes later Roselyn gave the blanket to Vader, who stuttered out a thanks. They traded off about every five to ten minutes, however, they didn't do this for very long because it grew to cold for them to run. Vader's legs weren't working right, her muscles were sore and her knees kept locking up. They soon slowed to a walk. Vader heard a strange clicking noise, but didn't think much of it. The two girls were now in a dune free zone; the sand was packed beneath their feet; making it easier for them to walk. She heard the clicking again and turned just as Roselyn let out a loud shriek. Vader saw a dark creature that looked similar to a giant insect in the dim light. More of these creatures followed the first, and a sense of panic began to fill her. As they got closer, Vader was able to see that they were ants. The ants approached them quickly. "I think they think that we're food." Roselyn said in a small whisper. "Uh...yeah." Vader said, a tone of fear in her voice. One of the ants rushed towards Vader and she jumped out of the way, but unfortunately for her, she wasn't quick enough and the ant caught her in the leg. Vader let out a yell of pain. She managed to grab her knife out of the pack slung over her shoulder and swing it at the ant, who scuttled away. Vader stumbled a little; the bite in her leg that the ant had given her was making her slightly woozy. She took another blind swing and her knife made contact with it. A sharp pain shot up her wrist and Vader dropped the knife; the aunt had bitten her again. Suddenly the ant dropped dead, something stuck out of it's neck. Vader looked towards Roselyn, who was standing shakily. The ants retreated momentarily, Vader wondered if the bites would kill them and if the ants were controlled by the gamekeepers.
They walked as quickly as possible, both stumbling wearily. “I can’t go much longer." Roselyn said. Vader nodded and then coughed, an awful smell was filling the air. “In here! Get in here" Roselyn's voice said from far off. Vader moved towards the sound of Roselyn's voice. She stumbled and suddenly was falling. She hit solid ground with a thud. "Ow." She said quietly. She moved towards a crumpled shape that seemed to be Roselyn and fell into a deep sleep.

| Roselyn woke up, completely famished. She took a small piece of bread and drank way more of her water than she probably should have. She looked at it and winced realizing it was half-empty. She took the time to look around and see where they actually were. It seemed to be an endless tunnel, stretching in both ways. It was big enough to stand it without hunching over, but only just. She walked a little over ten feet and saw another opening that led in another direction. She glanced back at Vader before further exploring. Soon enough, it went deeper and deeper, revealing a large ant hill. She winced upon seeing the form of a human far below. It was a girl, there was still long hair. Roselyn closed her eyes and offered a moment of silence. It would have surely been an awful way to die. Eaten by ants.
Most of the ants were asleep, but when she tried to step foot into an open underground area, large ants appeared out nowhere and chased her. She ran back in the direction she came from and smelled the same stench. It grew worse and worse and the ants pulled back. The smell was toxic to them. It was fine to Roselyn - just smelled bad. She hadn't even really noticed it earlier because she had grown so accustomed to it.
She climbed up the hole that they had came in from and realized just how sore so many of her muscles were. She felt the heat grow even more when she stepped outside. It was cooler in the abandoned tunnels. Judging by the sun, it was nearing four in the afternoon. They had slept for over 12 hours! No wonder she was so hungry! She still was and she felt how it was draining her - making her slower than normal.
She jumped back into the tunnel and ran to awake Vader. However, she seemed to be already awake. "Ok. It will be dark soon, so we will have to hunt soon before all the animals go to they're hideouts. I saw owls last night, so finding any animals out at night besides owls will be near impossible. But..." She paused, fidgeting. "There is something else we can do as a last resort. When the ants are out at night hunting, they'll obviously leave guards, but if we can make it to their food supply, we could survive for a while if we steal enough." She tried not to think about the girl. They surely ate things other than humans.

| Walking in the sun was death. MIsael couldn’t even begin to imagine how the Game Makers were able to harness the sun in such a way that it baked this way. District five was not this way, and that was the weather he knew. Still, he had to give his designer credit because of the suit she had designed for him. It breathed like none other, and it kept him cool in the hot sun. The sunglasses that he had found in the Cornucopia helped a ton as well. Even so, Misael was sure he would have a wicked sunburn by the end of the day, but he forced himself to move on anyways. He needed to put as much distance as he could between himself and the Careers. The trek was painfully hot and therefore painfully long, but eventually the sun began to set. The heat lessened, and Misael could feel the chill of a desert night coming.
With the sun gone, Misael wondered again how his had engineered his suit. In the day it breathed, but at night it kept him warm, trapping body heat. The sand helped also because it radiated heat that it had absorbed during the day. Looking around him, Misael couldn’t see the Oasis anymore, which was a good thing. Still, he didn’t think a fire was liability he was willing to take. Luckily, during the day, the ground had leveled out a bit, the sand disappearing and giving way to packed earth. This would be a lot easier to camp on than dunes of sand. Thoughts of sandstorms and wild animals filled Misael’s mind as he unpacked his pack. He was lucky that there was a sleeping bag in the pack.
Rolling out the bag, Misael set himself down to sleep. Unfortunately, the bag was rather easily spotted with the reflective stripes across the outside, but Misael figured he could probably cover himself in some dirt to dull the shine. No fire meant that he would only have his body warmth to warm him, so Misael settled down to watch the nightly broadcast of those who had died. Names and faces flashed in the sky, and when Demetrii’s face flashed on the screen, MIsael couldn’t help but feel pain, guilt, and relief. He had struggled against another Tribute and been able to go through with killing him. The first was the hardest, according to Misa’s mentor. Now, he just needed to find a way to survive, which meant he needed to find some water. His own supplies were running treacherously low, and there was no way he was going back to the Oasis unless he absolutely had to.
Misael lay there, thinking about his lot in life, when he heard some kind of scuttling coming towards him. Sitting up, he looked around him, glad that he didn’t start a fire. His sword was in his head, as he had slept with it at his side. The axe was still with his pack, and he was missing that bow. The scuttling came closer, and Misael decided that he shouldn’t just stay in one spot and wait for the scuttling to come to him. Stuffing everything into his bag, he strapped it onto his back and stealthily crept towards the noise. He was expecting one of the Tributes from District 12. That district never had tributes that were up to snuff. What Misael saw instead was completely unexpected.
Giant ants were scuttling around, and MIsael never thought he would see something like this. He wondered what the Gamemakers had done to get such interesting creatures to inhabit the Arena. According to his mentor, animals meant water. All Misael had to do was follow them, but he couldn’t let himself be seen either. Ant bites were painful when the ants were tiny. These ants would probably kill him. Misael trailed the ants until they reached the entry to their anthill. |

| Donta had not seen a tree since his first night in the arena with Alex. Had it been up to him, the twelve year old would have just stayed up in the tree for the rest of his time in the arena and hoped for the best, but he didn’t want to give Alex a reason to abandon and/or kill him, so he reluctantly left the familiarity of the trees when the older boy suggested they move on. He felt extremely out of place and all too visible (despite the fact that they were traveling by night) as he made his way through the seemingly endless desert with the boy who had almost killed him but was now his ally. The hunger he could deal with, but Donta had never been this hot in his entire life, and his throat was parched. Then there were also the ants that seemed to crawl right out of the ground. Donta didn’t know for sure if they were poisonous, but he most definitely didn’t want to find out. As one crawled a little too close to his foot for comfort, Donta moved slightly closer to Alex and quickened his pace; surely the desert had to end somewhere, right?
He wasn’t really sure how to feel about having Alex as an ally. The older boy had almost tried to kill him, after all. And Donta did not appreciate being called a moron just for waiting for Sadie- he had been a little more occupied trying to flee the cornucopia to safety than looking to see what was going on in the mess. Still, Sadie’s death hit Donta hard. She had been the one person he was sure would help him out in the games, and without a doubt the stronger member of their team. So why was Donta still alive when she wasn’t? And why hadn’t Alex just finished Donta off when he had the chance? Not that Donta minded living, but he was a little confused by how quickly Alex had switched from trying to kill him to being his ally. Again, he wasn’t complaining; the young boy was just confused.
But no matter how confused Donta was by Alex, he was mostly just glad to not be alone. Maybe it was the fact that he could die at any moment, or that he was just relieved to see a friendly face, but Donta was slowly coming to trust the older boy as they made their way through the desert. Was this what it would have been like to have an older brother? Maybe if he had had an older brother to toughen him up instead of five sisters who babied him, Donta would have stood a better chance in the Games-but the young boy immediately pushed that thought from his mind; he would still be himself with or without an older brother.
Lost in thoughts, Donta had not realized that the sun was beginning to rise. He was a little hesitant to say anything that could contradict whatever Alex’s plan was, but Donta knew it couldn’t possibly be a good idea to keep wandering through the open desert in broad daylight. Not to mention that he was exhausted from traveling in the intense heat with no water. Donta turned to the older boy and spoke up tentatively. “Um, do you think maybe we should find a place to stop for the day? The sun is starting to come up.” Since he was already suggesting things, Donta figured he might as well add one more thing, so he continued, “And we should probably start looking for some food or water.” Because Donta knew they couldn’t go much longer without either-it was actually lucky that they had spent the first day by the oasis, or they would have been much worse off by now.
((I hope this works, Alex. Let me know if I should change anything!))

| Misael stood at the entrance to the anthill, looking inside. The sun was beginning to rise, and he was not looking forward to spending his second day in the Arena under the never-ending blazing heat of the sun, so he figured he could at least use the cave-like entrance as shade for the day. He would rest up and spend the sunlit hours preparing for a journey into the belly of the hill. And so thats what he did. Misael spent day 2 chilling close to the entrance of the anthill. He kept his eyes and ears open for any sign of giant ant activity headed his way, but none came. It was quite the needed rest for the days to come. A lot of his nights before the Arena had been spent in his Capitol bed, wondering how this had become his lot in life. In short, he hadn't gotten much sleep, so dozing off and on throughout the day was exactly what he needed, and he could trust the heat of the sun to keep most of the other Tributes away. Misael wasn't sure how far away he was from the Oasis, but with the Careers, one could never be too far away.
When the sun set on the second day, Misael strapped on his bag, which he repacked, and made his way into the myriad of tunnels that was the anthill. He could not believe the natural engineering that was needed to build such a marvelous maze. He had no idea where he was going, but Misael figured that he would head down into the ground and eventually find what he was looking for, even if it took him all day and all night. So Misael walked and walked and walked. He found himself in the company of many of the anthill's drones on several occasions, but he was too far away for them to sense him. However, with his flashlight, he could tell where the ants were. There was no sun in the tunnels, so he had no idea when the sun had risen. However, he did notice a smaller amount of activity after a while, and Misael began to wonder if the ants were nocturnal. It made sense with what he had already observed, but he wasn't 100% with his observations.
And so that was how Misael found himself in the belly of the whale in the middle of the third day of the Hunger Games. He had no friends, no alliances, and was in constant danger of becoming ant food. It was this constant threat that kept him on edge the entire day, so when he heard the scurrying of feet on the tunnel floor, he immediately pulled his sword from it's scabbard and looked for a good hiding spot. If he could hide, he would choose that over fight, but if he had to fight, he would until someone or something was dead. |

| Roselyn tossed and turned, unable to sleep - again. Her water supply was threateningly low and so was their food. They figured out that there were absolutely no source of food anywhere near them because of the ants and they couldn't go far in the heat expecting to get back before dark and before the ants came out, mercilessly searching for food. Roselyn hadn't yet told her friend what they must do in order to get food because it scared even her, but she knew they had to try and steal food from the ants. Earlier into the day, she had ventured farther into the anthill than she had ever gone and discovered more of it's secrets. She and Vader had been taking turns going in and scouting it out, looking for anything that they could.
The maze of tunnels expanded and grew the deeper she got. Soon they were twice her height on either side and above her. Then, there would be large rooms or caverns that a few tunnels led to and it would often hold sleeping ants. Roselyn learned that there were a lot of ants stationed as guards but that light hurt them. Their eyes or something. If she shined a light in any of their faces she had about twenty seconds till they chased after her. They were fast. Much faster than her and they knew their tunnel in and out, but Roselyn knew how to be quiet. Finally, she came across this huge cave that seemed to go down for a mile. Millions of tunnels opened up to it and Roselyn knew, the food had to be at the bottom of it. She couldn't stay long though because by then many ants knew that she was there and were searching for her. She gots away with a few more bites and had collapsed. Weak, thirsty, tired, hungry.
But she knew that she had to get in there and get food or else she would die. Vader was obviously as fraught with fatigue as she, but they went in anyway. They went through a different maze of tunnels because there were a few ants surrounding their safe haven already.
Roselyn made her way through the maze more comfortable every time with Vader beside her. They took it at a steep decent going lower at every chance they had. After a short while of this, Roselyn quickly turned out her light and whispered. "I think I just heard human footsteps." It was hard enough having the ants not on your side, but having to deal with the fact that Careers could be anywhere and she didn't even have them on her side scared her even more. She took her back-pack off her back and held it tightly. It held everything she had that could be of assistance and 5 poisoned darts. She took one out, held it at the ready with her knife and flashlight in the other and inches closer.
She heard a scrape of metal that was close. Impossibly close. She closed her eyes, afraid to breath and took one more step... but the ground was smushy. She had trod on someone's foot. Snapping the light on, she pulled her dart back and said, "one move and I'll throw this at you. I may die from that sword but this is poisoned. You'll die instantly. Well... not instantly, more like minutely." She bit her lip in concentration. "We have two to one too." She blurted before adding, "what are you doing here anyway? Do you even know how to defeat the ants?" She bluffed. She knew how to kill the ants instantly. But she only had five ants to kill.

| Alexander Jones, could win the games if it wasn't for one thing, the little kid following him. He had suggested to become Allies. "Ok, but let's just travel just to the Dunes. I know this place has Underground Tunnels but don't you think that people would look there first." Alex said. Donta had looked at Alex kind of weirded out, like he was waiting for Alex to kill him, Alex threw up the backpack a knife coming out and then pointed it at Donta's neck, "Take It, you need it." He spun it in his hand and put it in Dontas hand.
((THe day is here, so I'm just gonna put something dont get mad.))
Alex had seen that Donta had started to fall asleep, so Alex carried Donta over his shoulder. They had made it to the Dunes and hid in a tree. Thats when he saw some people, one person that was from his District.

| The grumbling in Vader’s stomach was a constant reminder that she and Roselyn desperately needed food. They were running low on all of their supplies, but their main issue was food, or lack of food for that matter. She and Roselyn had been searching the tunnels for food, trying to prevent the inevitable; they were going to have to steal food from the ants. Vader found herself exploring the tunnels with Roselyn in search of anything that would lead them to food. Neither one of the girls had admitted to the other what they must do, but both of them knew it and the thought of sneaking into the ants ‘s lair was terrifying, and if they failed they would be dead. On Vader’s scouting expeditions (she and Roselyn had been switching off between scouting shifts), she’d discovered some unoccupied tunnels that lead to one of the larger rooms. The room had been filled with ants and it had been all Vader could do to not run away immediately, instead Vader watched in stunned silence as the ants crawled about. They seemed more intelligent than the small ants back home in District Three. A sudden depression had come over Vader at the thought of home; there was hardly any chance that she was to see District Three ever again. With a shake of her head, Vader had tried to clear her thoughts and returned to her thoughts on how she and Roselyn we going to steal food from the ants. Vader had a theory that they been created by the Capital, and this theory had come about with Vader thinking that there was no way that the giant ants would be so intelligent if they’d simply evolved from the smaller ants of Panem…
Suddenly the tunnel that Vader and Roselyn were exploring was plunged into darkness. The only warning was the small click made by the flashlight as Roselyn shut it off. "I think I just heard human footsteps." Roselyn whispered. Vader tilted her head, trying to hear what Roselyn had heard. Sure enough, Vader heard the faint sound of approaching footsteps. Vader slowly took her knife out, being careful to remain silent. She hoped that they would be able to surprise whoever the tribute was. Someone stepped on Vader’s foot and Vader bit her lip, trying to keep in a small gasp of surprise. The dim light of the flashlight flooded the tunnel and Vader had to squint to see. She tied to signal to Roselyn that she should be quiet, but Roselyn didn’t seem to notice. "One move and I'll throw this at you. I may die from that sword but this is poisoned. You'll die instantly. Well... not instantly, more like minutely." Roselyn said. Vader shook her head frantically, trying to get her to stop talking. "We have two to one too. What are you doing here anyway? Do you even know how to defeat the ants?" Roselyn finished. “No! Don’t give away how many people you have with you!” Vader mouthed, frustrated.
A plan formed in Vader’s mind and she immediately put it into action. Making no noise, Vader backed up against the wall and tried to make herself scarce in the shadows. Since the were at a turn in the tunnel, there was a chance that their enemy hadn’t seen them yet ad since Vader wasn’t speaking, there was a possibility that the other tribute could be fooled into thinking that Roselyn was lying about having someone else with her. Then, if the tribute attacked Roselyn, Vader could get the person from behind. She tapped Roselyn on the shoulder and pointed to herself and then pressed the finger to her lips, trying to convey to Roselyn that she needed to be silent and shouldn’t be mentioned.

| As the sound came closer, Misael realized that it wasn’t the “scratch, scratch, scratch” that usually announced the presence of the giant ants. Instead, he heard a “thud, thud, thud” that somewhat mimicked the sound his own shoes made against the floor of the anthill tunnels. So when the girl came into view, he wasn’t surprised to see that she wasn’t an ant. However, what he was surprised to see was that she was alone. He could have sworn that he had heard two pairs of shoes padding their way across the floor. However, he must have been mistaken because there was obviously only one person standing before him, and she had been the one to step on his foot.
The girl that stood before Misael wasn’t too remarkable. She had brown hair of undetermined length. After all, it was really dark in the cave, and the lights cast shadows behind the holders’ bodies. He couldn’t see the color of her eyes either, but he guessed they were brown like her hair. Misael recognized the face from the scores that had been flashed on the television back in the Capitol. If he wasn’t mistake, this was Roselyn or something like that from District 9. Misael didn’t know much about District 9, and he probably would never know much about the place. Only Victors were able to travel freely between districts, and then they only did that for their first year. Afterwards, they came and went from their personal district and the Capitol. No one, besides Peacekeepers, moved to a new district, and it was rare for people to visit other districts.
As Misael was studying the girl, she was talking to him. Threatening him was a more proper term. He held his sword up in the light from her flashlight. She held a dart, threatening to throw it at him if he came any closer. Of course, the gamemakers would put out poisoned darts for the Tributes to use against each other. It was a wonder that they could think up the most perverse ways to torture the 24 children that were forced to do battle to the death. When she tipped her hand on the numbers in her party, Misael could only smile. He had heard right. There were two people, even if he could only see one. Then, Roselyn – or whoever she was – asked him why he was there.
“I could ask you the same thing,” he replied matter-of-factly. “However, as a sign of good faith, I will answer your question.” He didn’t want to have to kill this girl and her companion, especially because he doubted he could get both. Misael was sure he could kill one, but the other would kill him. “I thought that there must be water somewhere down here because the ants lived down here, so I thought I could find it. As to the ants, I haven’t had to confront too many ants, and I have run from the ones I have seen. It’s made for an interesting trek through these tunnels, let me tell you.” He smiled genuinely, hoping to gain the girl’s trust and then that of her companion. “What about you?” he asked, refraining from adding “two” to the end of his question. “What brings you to the biggest anthill ever made?” He lowered his sword, but he didn’t put it away. Maybe, he could deflect the dart with the blade, or distract them with throwing it, if things got bad. He did have that axe on his back if things went horribly south.

| Upon stepping on the guys foot and blurting out the first thin that came to mind and would hopefully at least keep one of the alive, she noticed a series of reactions. First Vader was shaking her head. Roselyn kept talking trying of decided what she meant by that. There were a bunch of things that she had already said that she probably shouldn't have. She couldn't have not said anything, he had already seen them. She had freakin' stepped on the guys foot! She then noticed her quickly press herself to the wall where the guy couldn't see her. Hadn't he already seen both. "Oh shoot." Roselyn muttered to herself. He hadn't had he. And she was bein he stupid bumbling self again. It seems he only thing useful she had done so far was kill that snake, take it's venom make a concoption Turing it into paste and splattering it on her darts. Well that and finding the large chasm of the ants.
She noticed Vader mouth not to say how many people there were. Rosleyn watched to say back, yeah I gathered that but that would just be anoher one of her bad ideas. She hoped that maybe the guy would think she was bluffling. Roselyn eyed his sword which he still had out. If he did think she was bluffing he would have killed her already ...right? But she was still cautious. Vader would be able to get him by surprise if he didn't know. She slowly began unzipping her pack. She had many more thing in there that hold help. She stuck her flashlight in it and took a brief second to 'look at her pack' behind her because she felt a tap on her back. In that second, she saw Vader press a finger to her lips. Roselyn snapped back to the tribute this time with her knife free in her hand. She could throw with her left hand, also fight, but her right was much more accurate.
For what seemed like the first time since stepping on his foot, she seemed to actually notice him. She recognized him, but then again she recognized everyone. He couldn't remeber his name or District, just that it started with an M. She also knew he wasn't a Career. She had memorized their faces, but they were the only ones. Roselyn generally tried not to pay attention to names and districts because it would be harder to face them in battle that way.
“I could ask you the same thing... However, as a sign of good faith, I will answer your question.” Roselyn appreciated this decency. There was definately something odd about him. He hadn't already made an attempt to kill her and well... He wasn't acting how she was assuming they would. She and Vader had stayed there - hidden for most of the games so they didn't know what the others were like really. She listened as he explained how he assumed there would be water here. He also said that he had only encountered a few ants. "Smart." She remarked.
She opened her mouth to say somehing else but he was asking why she was there. She smiled at his last comment "You sound so optamistic. Well, abou your water comment, I assume that the Careers are guarding the Oasis. Killing all the weak thirsty people. Yeah that's where ..I'm going right now. For water. I found... well nevermind." Rosleyn decided it was best that she didn't relay the fact that she possibly found their water source. Maybe that was why they were still alive. The guy looked strong ...scrawny, but stronger than her and easily capable of at least attacking. "Oh and also, you've only seen a few? That's odd. We've seen tons. By this time they know we're living in here and they have extra ...guards up. Well, I guess they're guards. The ants seem to be very intellegent. And how we got here... well... It was an accident. We were runnin from ants outside and sort of ...fell in. It was an old abandoned tunnelling which has proven to protect us from the heat quite well. The cool not as much... I mean it's still hot in the days, but being out of he sun helps. We'll go scouting he hills. Its less dangerous in the day. They're all sleeping. At night they are working. Most of them are gone though. Probably looking for stray tributes." Roselyn shuttered remebering the girls half eaten body. "How exactly did you find the hill? Did you just assume from all the ants there would be an anthill somewhere?"

| So, Misa had joined their little ...group and had been apart of it for three days now. It was only a week into the games, but there were still 11 people left. Roselyn would constantly wonder 'will I be next. Will Vader, or even Misa be next?' She still wasn't quite warmed up to Misa, she tolerated him yes, they were getting food more easily, yes. But she felt that there was some blood lust inside of him. If they ended up lasting a while, the way the three would break up wouldn't be just a simple, well bye, I'm leaving now. Somehow, she guessed that Vader felt similarly.
They had managed to steal a bit of food from the ants, but the supply quickly went down and was now meagre. However, what was extremely dire was that they had maybe one sip of water left per person. And with the impossible heat, it wouldn't last time. All three knew that they needed water - now. But if they wanted to get it, they either had to fight the Careers or the ants. Roselyn knew she didn't have the strength to do it, and she figured the other two knew it as well. They had recently moved farther down into the hill because they found another abandoned tunnel which was cooler. Their bodies couldn't handle the heat coming through the opening any more.
After what seemed like endless hours of her shift while the others were asleep, Roselyn felt something wet beneath her. Slightly taken aback, Roselyn assumed that the lack of water was driving her crazy, however, once she looked, she saw that there was indeed water steadily dripping into their alcove. She shook Misa and Vader before running to the water. She caught each drip on her tongue. The steam grew stronger, and several were pouring over the side. "It must be raining outside!" She exclaimed. Unaware of how bad their situation would quickly get.

| Vader felt herself being shaken awake. “Leave me alone.” She muttered quietly. She was so warm and comfortable, she inhaled and smelled the familiar scent of home. Vader rolled over, something pointy was pressing into her shoulder. The District Three tribute attempted to move the object by moving it off her bed with her shoulder. A sharp pain in her shoulder made Vader’s eyes snap open, revealing the roof of a tunnel. She wasn’t at home; she was in The Games.
Vader sat up instantly alert. She stared quizzically at Roselyn for a moment. “It must be raining outside!” Her ally noted. Vader got to her feet and walked over to where Roselyn was standing. She squinted in the dim light and saw a line of water running down to the floor of the tunnel. “Finally.” She said. Had she been anywhere else besides The Arena, Vader would have smiled, but under the circumstances she didn’t, and kept her face blank.
The water was leaking from the roof too. Vader looked up as she felt a drop of water land on her ear. She watched as the drips grew steadier and steadier until it was a constant stream water. Vader walked over to their supplies, the amount of food they had was disheartening, there was barely anything left, but Vader was paying more attention to where her water bottle was. Upon spotting it, Vader grabbed it and went back to the stream of water and held her water bottle under it. After about thirty seconds Vader took a drink from the bottle, not caring if the water was tainted, she was too thirsty. The water tasted almost sweet, she looked down at her bottle to see how much it had been filled, there wasn’t enough for another swallow, so Vader put it back under the stream of water and waited.

| Roselyn chuckled at her friend’s befuddled expression to the rain that was coming down. “Finally.” She didn’t allow herself time to look and see why Vader was rummaging through her things. She was already over at the stream of water coming from the mouth of their cave. Roselyn tilted her head back and let the water pour into her mouth. Occasionally there would be a clump of dirt and the water tasted slightly murky, but to her it was the sweetest thing she had every tasted. It satisfied her thirst and hunger. She didn’t stop until her belly was swollen with the substance. Then, she went back and filled up the rest of their water bottles. She noticed that Misa did the same as Vader, but she didn’t care. She needed water.
After a little while of this, the water was really coming down quickly. The ground was slick and near impossible to move around. Roselyn’s clothes were almost completely soaked but she didn’t care. It helped immensely with the many sunburns that scorched her body.
The floor above them seemed to creek. “Vader, Misa.” She said pointing up. It was hard, packed earth. It wasn’t supposed to creek. Suddenly, a crack opened, and water rushed through. “Hold on to something!” She screamed and jumped to the wall, grabbing everything she could. The crack opened up letting in a massive flow of water. Misa didn’t make it to the wall in time and the water sent him over the side, into the bowels of the anthill. “MISA!” Roselyn screamed, but her screaming did nothing, he was taken away. Just like that. Realizing that people were watching them, she shrugged it off. “Well, he didn’t care about us that much anyway. “
Once the massive flow of water stopped, it went back to a steady stream. Though now the stream was bigger, more like a water fall. “We need to get out of here…” Roselyn walked over to the cave mouth and looked down, shocked. What once was over half a mile down was now only a few ferlongs. The water level was close. The fall was long, and water deep. With all the waterfalls cascading into it, if she fell the water would hold her under, claiming her life. “…now.” Roselyn grabbed her things and gingerly began her ascent up. “Do be careful. It’s very slippery.”

| DAY 9 R.I.P. Roselyn and Vader. Basically, they only had a few more posts, the rain comes in, they use their last effort to make it up to the opening, with all the rushing water coming it, they can't individually pull themselves out. Roselyn uses her last effort to push Vader out, Vader, out, reaches her hand down to grab her friend, but she is already being swept away. Vader gets hit in the head with a rock, she loses her grip by almost passing out, the current takes her back into the ant hill and she perishes, drowing with her friend. Valient deaths -tear- | |
