No, they weren't destroyed. They were a fully functioning District like the one you are all in. But they rebelled. So far the new system is working quite well and no one has even dreamed of rebelling.

Yes, but after they rebelled they were destroyed. My point is, since they are gone we shouldn't be punished by being sent to slaughter.

I was going to stay out of this, but I just can't sit here and listen to this any longer. Do you even know who you're talking to? The future president. If it were me, I would've had peacekeepers after you already. Really. And people think I'm stupid.

Anyways, the Games are a chance to bring honor and glory to our districts. Duh. Being in the Games is, like, an honor. The Capitol's doing us a favor. Right, Mr. Snow?

The games are just a way to murder us all and show people how evil the Capitol is. That's what really happens. Careers don't know this, but the games are just for entertainment.
