((Sorry for the lateness and sucky post. :/))

The morning sunlight forced Jonathon to get up and go and do something, he couldn’t sleep with all of the sunlight forcing its way through the window. Sighing he got changed and walked out of the door, leaving his father to lie there, Jonathon had never understood how he could sleep for such long periods of time. Jonathon’s pace was slow and he was tired, though he knew he had to go and actually do something, but he couldn’t remember what it was, his Dad never really had been a specific person he mumbled half the time and Jonathon always ended up shouting at him to talk more clearly, of course all he got in reply was a cacophony of mumbling sounds. “Hey dad!” Naturally the sound of mumbling came from upstairs, “What do I have to go bloody get for you?!” Ano0ther mumble followed, though it was slightly more audible than the last.

“Huhm..Groc..eri..es.” Then the snoring came, Jonathon sighed and opened the door, continuing his slow pace along the streets. Barely anybody was around at this time in the morning, though that wasn’t to say that the streets were deserted, some early rises had started going by their daily business. Though Jonathon didn’t stop to look at their faces, he wanted to get his chore done; after all he had over things to get on with, like his exercising, though in full honesty Jonathon really couldn’t be bothered today. His eyes tried to close and he forced his hand to rub them open, he was slowly drifting back to sleep in mid walk, though he just managed to stop himself falling asleep.

His drowsy foot hit the muddy ground hard as he turned down the short alleyway to reach the Grocers. He walked out back onto the main road before looking from side to side to make sure no trouble was about to come at him, as was so usual in District 2, he reached the grocers, but to his disappointment there was a retched sign in the door reading ‘Closed’. Sighing, possibly slightly louder than intended, Jonathon kicked the ground beneath his feet and propped himself up against the wall, lowering his height slightly.

His face formed somewhat of a snarl. His hand rose to his eyes and he rubbed them, now that he was stood still he was more likely to fall asleep, after all he had to wait until the god damn sign changed to Open, and a person stood still in District 2 was an open target, though Jonathon’s status was probably enough to protect him from that threat, he was more worried about his father, after all he couldn’t really afford to be ‘late’ not that the father cared about Jonathon, just about the food, though his father had become weaker than Jonathon so the two rarely fought over anything, though it was certainly a hostile environment, Jonathon had never liked his family, though his mother was the nicest, the two were obsessed with the Hunger Games, though when his mother had died, he realised what a complete maniac his father actually was, though his thoughts were stopped in their tracks as he noticed some movement and he stopped leaning and reared up to his full height, he had to be careful, this was District 2 after all.

((For one, sorry for the lateness. I was planning on replying to our thread on HBH first.
Second, it's fine with me if you join since you're from this District, but you have to ask Jonathon as well. Also, you're not even allowed to rp until you have sent in a character sheet and it's been accepted.

At any rate, welcome to the site, I hope you like it. I know it can be confusing at first so if you have any questions, feel free to pm!

A Rude Awakening (Taryn) Empty

Exhausted from a long day of work, Taryn retired to her cabin on the train. She had been so looking forward to some sunlight, but weariness took its toll. As soon as she fell on top of her uncomfortable bed, her eyes were closed and sleep overtook her. However, it was short lived on account of her best friend, Stan. He excitedly shook her awake. Taryn didn’t even have time to do something she normally did like grumble, curse, or throw her pillow at him because words were spilling out of his mouth before he could catch up with them. On account of her slowly working tired mind, she only caught little phrases like, “he’s actually letting us hunt.” And, “don’t stray into the District.” And lastly, “I think it’s two.”

“Slow down.” Taryn grumbled and slowly pulled herself up. He certainly had her at hunting. They hadn’t been allowed to since her little slip up at District Seven. But obviously, they wanted fresh meat. Staying in the underground railway was often annoying – especially when their food supply was limited to canned goods.

Stan explained slower and they quickly set out. A few people waved at them as they walked up to the forests above, clearly as excited to eat meat as they were to get outside and hunt. Taryn was shocked to find that the sun was starting to rise – she had worked through the night. An icy wind blew across the meadow they were in and Taryn sucked in fresh air. She hadn’t been outside in some time, always too busy working with the railway. She saw some of her co-workers outside, feeling the sun on their skin no matter how cold it was. Taryn wasn’t very surprised that snow wasn’t covering the ground. Two was supposedly close to four meaning it was one of the closest Districts to the ocean.

Exchanging a glance with Stan, she set out, as did Stan in a different direction. She took off running, the feeling of drowsiness ebbing away. The wind on her face and being able to run again felt so good. She kept her eye out for any sign of movement. Making it to valley, she crouched, waiting for any animal to show its face. Holding her bow close and running her hand over her knife once more to make sure it was there, Taryn caught sight of a large bird flying from one tree to another. She crept closer, making sure to stay quiet. The bird took flight again and Taryn drew her bow. She aimed, estimated, and shot.

The bird dropped like a rock… right over a wall. How had she missed that? Taryn was too busy watching the flight of the bird to see where it was headed. “How could I be so stupid?” She muttered to herself, clearly flustered.

Making her way to the wall, Taryn traveled along it until she found an entrance. The sky showed hues of orange and pink reminding her a lot of the last time she had been near District Two. She carefully entered the District, angered that the town was right there. Everything was so close to the wall, which meant she had to be very careful. On account of the rising sun, she would be found easily.

Stealthily, walking through the District, she looked for the bird. In her peripheral vision, she saw someone move and she instinctively froze – a mistake. Whoever it was would have gotten a peek. Was it long enough to notice she wasn’t from there? Starting to panic, she dove into a hiding place and looked back to see if the person was following.

((SO SORRY at how late this is.))

As Jonathon stood his back against the wall, he cracked his knuckles, waiting for the shop to open, but he paused, a sound emitted from somewhere, and he could have sworn that he heard a...thud sound. His eyes slowly moved towards a spot where he could have sworn he saw someone sneaking. Maybe it was one of Arianna’s siblings, after all Jonathon knew that they were always sneaking around, so for now he simply stood straight, smirking as he looked at were the noise had come from. He placed his hands in his pockets, mainly to intimidate if the person was some sneaky person from District 2.

Jonathon reached the wall quickly, he then slowly walked around the corner and saw someone standing there, it didn’t surprise him though as he had been expecting it. It was a girl. Jonathon smirked, stretching his arms slightly before placing them back in his pockets, “Your hiding skills suck. Just to let you know.” He said with a small smile, one that could either be taken as sarcastic or generally happy. The latter was the one he intended. He peered his head just past the girl and fiddled around his mouth with his tongue, before sharply cutting in before the girl had a chance to retaliate, “Why are you hiding anyway?” Jonathon could find no suitable answer to the question. He fiddled with his pockets for a while, giving the girl the odd glance, but they weren’t intense or intimidating like they normally would have been, he needed to get his head around her motives first.

Jonathon then gave one more glance at her and he noticed it. He reared back, quite quickly, tentatively he then he looked to both his left and right, “Why the hell do you have a bow? They’ll kill you.” He was slightly concerned, mainly due to the fact that she actually had a bow, which meant she had the power, not him, and Jonathon didn’t like it. He was a diminutive figure, all 6ft 2 of him, being inferior didn’t come naturally to him, but he somehow managed to get round it easily enough. He glared at the bow for a few seconds, then back to the Grocer’s, the sign now read ‘Open’ but Jonathon wasn’t budging until he got his answers.

The streets were still relatively quiet, and not many people were walking along them, Jonathon had been forced to get up this early. He was still tired, and it showed. His usual stern, muscle bound stature had been replaced today with a slight slouch, and the odd yawn even managed to escape his lips, of course his muscles were still there, but they were extremely relaxed, and Jonathon really didn’t like it, but obviously there was no way of the girl telling that.

He noticed some people whom he knew, they were all in their usual gangs, and Jonathon grinned as one of them got punched by the other, typical District 2 life. Jonathon had nearly outgrown that behaviour, nearly. He still liked fighting, it was fun, it got rid of his anger, most times, and it made him stronger, but the smirk was clear, for the girl to see anyway. Jonathon then turned to her, narrowed his eyes, but not in spite, “What’s your name then?” He said, raising both eyebrows, and grinning. Though his eyes remained on the bow for a while, that was what he was most worried about for now, that, and whether or not this girl would be vicious towards him.

((Eep, this is also really late, sorry. D8))
