The Privileged Children ((Snow, Narcissa and Portia- PM to join!))

Narcissa had begged her parents for weeks to let her go to the party tonight; one of Portia's father's coworkers had a daughter their age, and she was hosting a highly exclusive party for the Capitol's privileged children.
Narcissa had gone shopping earlier that week, looking for the perfect outfit for tonight, because she heard that President Snow's son was going to be in attendance.
Relax, Cissa. Jacob Snow won't like a girl who's nervous.
It was no secret to Narcissa's closest friends that she rather liked Snow, and all of them could see why. Snow was a handsome boy that would come into a LOT of power. He was also someone who didn't sugarcoat things, a trait highly valued by Narcissa.
Narcissa pulled her dress on, did her hair and make up, and put on her jewelry in front of the mirror in her bedroom. She looked perfect, and was certain to make sure everyone else thought so.
She was dressed to impress.
"Mom, Dad, I'm leaving!" She called to her parents as her hand touched the front doorknob to leave the house.
"When will you be back?" Her mother called. Narcissa rolled her eyes.
"I don't know, Mother. Whenever the party ends."
"Who are you going with?"
"I TOLD you, I'm going with Portia."
"Does Portia's father know where-"
"Oh, hush, Minerva. I highly doubt Atticus would let his daughter go if he didn't trust her. Narcissa, have a good time." Narcissa's dad said, letting her off the hook with her mother. She smiled at him, and left the house, on her way to meet Portia in the courtyard in front of her apartment complex.
She would make sure tonight would be a night to remember.

Portia stood outside in the courtyard, waiting for Narcissa to show up so they could go to the party. Portia had never been to a party before, and her father seemed surprised when she asked if she could go. He would be working late tonight, and she didn't want to sit around at home with nothing to do.
The longer Portia stood outside in her dress, the colder she got. Being cold came with the territory of looking good, she supposed.
She would be lying if she said she wasn't nervous about the party. She hoped the kids that teased her at school wouldn't be going. That was the last thing she wanted to deal with tonight. She just wanted to have a fun night with Narcissa, and a few other girls that she talked to occasionally at school. Maybe she'd meet a boy there? Who knows?
A gust of wind blew, and goosebumps cropped up all over Portia's skin.
Hurry up, Cissa. She thought as she rubbed her arms to try to generate some body heat.
Finally, after what felt like hours, she saw Narcissa trundling towards her in high heels and a green, sequined dress.
"It's about time you got here!" Portia whined to her friend. "Now let's go, so we're not late."

A gust of icy wind, knocked the breath out of Snow, but he pressed forwards. He knew that if he stopped, he would convince himself to turn around. He was obviously one for social ranking, but he wasn't the best people person. Sure, he was a flirt and his charming looks helped him often, but he refused to be the loner standing in the background. He had been to many parties before and all the kids were always graced by him being there. They threw themselves on him to try to get attention, but after a little while, they would go back to their real friends and he'd be left alone like the loner he really was. It was evident that he had no real friends. It would look like it from the perspective of others because so many people followed him along, but they never actually enjoyed his company. They did it for their own pathetic reasons of social ranking.

Snow had weights on his shoulders. He had to do everything the right way. He couldn't get too ahead of himself - drink too much or anything of the sorts because somehow the cameras would find him and he wasn't going to allow his father a reason to approach him. However, he couldn't be too reserved - school came back there.

A loud bass vibrated the air and Snow felt like the ground was moving. But he trudged right towards the entrance. Upon seeing him, he was let right in. No identification needed. Straitening his stylish suit, he smirked. He really did like the power and attention.

Narcissa and Portia made their way to the party, chatting the entire way. This was going to be a great night; maybe some TV cameras would show up.
Narcissa could see a group of people standing outside of the girl's house, and a rush of adrenaline coursed through her veins. She had been looking forward to tonight for a while, and now it was show time. She grabbed Portia’s hand in excitement, and a wide smile crossed her face. She wondered if Snow was in that pack of people waiting to get in.
Narcissa pulled her invitation out of her purse, and the duo reached the pack. They waited in line for about ten minutes before reaching the front door.
“Invitation?” The person guarding the front door asked. They had probably asked this question 100 times. Narcissa handed the slip of paper to him, and he scrutinized it carefully. He had probably seen a lot of fakes tonight.
Narcissa’s and Portia’s both passed the test, and they were allowed entrance.
“This is it, Por. The party of the century!”

Portia had never been to a party like this before. The bass in the music was practically shaking the building's foundation, and there were people EVERYWHERE. Portia didn’t recognize anyone from first glance, and she hoped that none of her school bullies were here. She could smell an assortment of different food smells, and her mouth watered. Portia hoped to make a couple visits to the buffet: she hadn’t eaten all day specifically for that reason.
"Where are we even supposed to START?" Portia asked Narcissa, her senses a little overwhelmed with everything. There was a brief silence between songs, and then the bass-induced earthquake recommenced. Portia was about to drag Narcissa to the buffet when she saw a certain someone walk in, and her eyes widened to the point where they almost popped out of her head. She grabbed Narcissa’s bicep and practically squeezed it in half.
"CISSA! Look! It's Snow!"

Smirking, Snow turned on account of hearing his name. Two girls, decked out in sparkling attire to match the atmosphere of the party were staring at him with dazed expressions. He sent a smile in their direction and went back to looking about the party - maybe he'd find one of his not-so friends who just pretended to be for his attention. However, he found himself looking back at the two girls. They were both very pretty... one was even recognizable. Then it hit him, he was the girl he 'met' just the other day in the streets!

Curious now, and seeing no one else to talk to, he made his way over to them. "Why, hello! Did I hear one of you lovely ladies calling my name?" He winked. He couldn't help it. Girls seemed to melt under that and the attention was indeed enjoyable. "What are your names?" He averted his gaze to the one he recognized. "I believe we've met before, actually. You're the girl from the street, yes?"

"Why, hello! Did I hear one of you lovely ladies calling my name?"
Narcissa’s throat went dry as Snow approached the girls. He winked, and Narcissa felt her hands begin to shake.
Damn, he’s attractive/
"What are your names?" He asked the two before his eyes rested on Narcissa. "I believe we've met before, actually. You're the girl from the street, yes?"
Narcissa's brain went into complete overload.
Snow REMEMBERED her. He may not have remembered her name, but he remembered HER. She was astonished that she must have made an impression on him, if he remembered who she was.
"I, uh...I..." Narcissa stammered, completely flustered. Her face flushed a bit red, and she hoped Snow didn’t notice. He probably didn’t like shy girls.
Pull yourself together, Narcissa. Look who you’re talking to, for crying out loud.
"Yes, I am. My name's Narcissa. Narcissa Scamander...I'm training to be a Stylist for the future Games."

Faeryn was late. Not that she minded though; she was the most known woman in Panem. Everyone new her name, everyone had seen he glorious victory. And she loved it. She loved the Capital, she had status that was comparable to Snow Jr.'s it might even trump his. She could get into anywhere, any party, any event, any restaurant. Her glare had many people stuttering whenever she went somewhere, and it was all because of the Games.

She was all smiles tonight, however, as she made her way down the cold Capital street. Lights shown around her glittering, and she could hear the party she was heading towards from a few blocks away. The noise of people chattering away and the steady, throbbing, beat of the music grew louder as Faeryn approached. She strode in with all the grace and poise of a model, no questions asked--they knew who she was. Faeryn knew she looked absolutely stunning in her crimson dress and black stilettos and she flashed a smile.

The Victor quickly spotted a familiar face, Snow's. She knew him from previous event such as the huge party the Capital had held in her honor after the Games. He was accompanied by two girls, both obviously from the Capital. Heads turned as she approached the group, but Faeryn didn't mind and took it in stride. "...I'm training to be a Stylist for the future Games." The brunette said, just as Faeryn reached them. "A stylist, eh? And for the Games too. Let's hope you can survive the competition." Faeryn remarked, throwing herself into the conversation. She nodded to the two girls, then addressed Snow. "Jacob. What a surprise!" She said with an attractive smirk.

Narcissa was perfectly content with life. She and Portia were talking to Snow, the boy she had fawned over for years, when a blonde girl approached the trio and interjected herself into the conversation.
Don't lose your temper. That's Faeryn Nacht.
Narcissa was none too pleased that her conversation with Snow was interrupted by another girl, one who Narcissa thought was a lot prettier than herself.
Who did she think she was?
I was talking to Snow first. He probably thinks Faeryn is the most amazing person ever. What chance do I have now?
"Of course I can survive the competition. I'm better than most of them, anyways. Collins said so himself. He designed the outfits for District Four last year."
Narcissa hoped Faeryn knew Collins, or at least knew who he was. His designs were beautiful, and Narcissa hoped that he was getting some recognition in the fashion scene.

Portia smiled when Faeryn Nacht, the Victor of the last Games, approached the group. She noticed that Narcissa looked downright offended that Faeryn was there.
Please don't say anything mean, Cissa. Portia inwardly prayed, hoping her best friend wouldn't say anything to offend Faeryn.
"Of course I can survive the competition. I'm better than most of them, anyways. Collins said so himself. He designed the outfits for District Four last year." Cissa snapped at Faeryn, her competitive nature
That wasn't very nice.
Portia elbowed Narcissa in the arm, hoping that she got the hint. She also hoped that Snow and Faeryn didn’t notice the elbow; she didn’t want to look like the stern mother of a misbehaving infant.
"It's nice to meet you, Faeryn. I'm Portia Crane; my dad works for President Snow." Portia said, introducing herself to the Victor. Portia may not be a stylist, but she loved watching the Games, and Faeryn was her favorite competitor this year. She also hoped that distracting Faeryn from Snow would help Cissa talk to him more. She wasn’t the wingwoman of the century for nothing.

Snow couldn't help but chuckle as he saw the girl's reaction. She was slow to reply, and practically shaking with excitement. But he didn't mind - this reaction was often amusing. She stammered and quickly spilled out her name. "Oh really? That's quite impressive at your age, Narcissa. Well, if you succeed, maybe I'll see you around, I'm very affiliated with the Games, as you know."

That's when Fearyn showed up. Snow still wasn't sure how he felt about her and she showed such disrespect by calling him his first name, but just the same, he took her hand and kissed it, showing respect and replied, "it's good to see you again, Fearyn. How have you been post Games - still taking to it kindly? Most people are so changed afterwards, you... are quite extraordinary." He smirked knowing full well once he was the President he was going to give them even more hell than his father did.

The two made small talk, but he noticed that the other girl seemed a lot more fearless. Which was actually shocking - especially in the presence of two of the most famous and ruthless teenagers in all of Panem. "Really? What's his name? I wonder if I've heard of him."

"Atticus Crane." Portia said, her chest swelling with pride. "He's a leader in the military around here. I guess he's an aide to the President as well."
Portia loved her dad more than she loved herself, and whenever someone asked about him...well, it was hard for her not to brag a little bit.
"Dad always talks about how Panem has a bright future with you." She said to Snow. It was true; Atticus was filled with Capitol pride, and was more than enthusiastic for Snow to become President. The current President wasn't Atticus' favorite, but as part of his job, he did whatever he was told. The current President wasn’t Portia’s favorite either, mainly because he kept her father at work extremely late more often than not, and her father wasn’t taking the stress well; Portia noticed a few more wrinkles on him, and his hair was starting to gray faster than it should.
Portia turned her attention to Faeryn, anxious to ask her about the Games.
“Faeryn, what were the Games like? What was it like to be a tribute?”
