The 16th Hunger Games Daily Report

She was going on air in less than a minute, the seconds ticking down, yet a woman managed to bustle over and powdered her nose and applied some more bright red lipstick to her lips. Venus was completely white today, save for her bold red lips, the look was classic. The camera man signaled that she was officially on air.

“Good evening citizens of Panem, I’m Venus Nuntare, here to bring you the news of the Arena. Today we saw the beginning of the Sixteenth Hunger Games. By the end of the day, ten tributes have met their ends: the female tributes of Districts 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, and 12, and the male tributes of Districts 2, 6, 8, 10, and 12. This leaves fourteen tributes to battle in out in the Arena.

“An alliance seems to have formed between a few of the careers, the male tributes from Districts 1 and 4, and the female tribute from District 4. A potential strategy would be to go after the other Careers, who seem to have scattered about the arena along with the other tributes. Other tributes that the Careers should watch out for is the male tributes from 7 and 11.

“Several injuries have occurred today as well, but nothing seems truly serious for now., but it can be assured that there will be injuries in the future, as well as some very unexpected surprises. This is Venus Nuntare with the daily Hunger Games report.”

Venus wasn't in a hurry today to try and put the last few lines to memory or write a bit of the announcement, no. Neither was she unsatisfied with her appearance, powdered to perfection. However, in the last few moments before going live in front of all 12 Districts and even her home, that didn't stop her from rechecking herself in the mirror. Today she left her cheeks rosy and her skin was more of a natural color. It was an uncommon fashion these days, but her boisterous feathered, pink eyelashes were enough of a familiarity. And... that was her cue!

"Good evening everyone of Panem! I'm Venus Nuntare, here, with your daily reports on this year's exciting Hunger Games! Day two, today, has surely been one of the oddest days in the Arena Panem has ever seen! Well, at least for day two. There were absolutely no deaths, but that doesn't mean none of our tributes are injured. In fact, many tributes are sporting injuries, cuts, and bruises of all shapes and sizes. The main reason for the lack of bloodshed this day is probably on account of the Career group. They probably gave all the other tributes a scare, wondering when they would attack, but really, the Careers just gave the tributes more and more time to get farther away! Actually, they spent almost the entire day planning, strategizing, and moving. An odd day indeed! Usually, the universal strategy is simply kill and conquer, but not this time apparently! We are sure in for some interesting Games this year, that's for sure! They burned the rest of the supplies leaving the rest of the tributes entirely dependent on their own skills and ability of hunting for food. These games look like they might not be just the battle of the strongest, but also the smartest."

"Concerning the other tributes, well, they're merely running and surviving at this point. However, I'd say there are a few to keep your eyes on! The Career who abandoned the group and in fact has the best score of them all! The female from District 2. Another two to watch out for I'd say, as stated before, are the male tributes from 7 and 11. In fact, the female tribute from District 4 had a run-in with said male from 7 and she clearly had no intention of killing him. Is there some plotting behind group members backs?
