| Something had to change, and it had to change fast. The Reaping was coming up in a few months, and there was that slight little possibility that Fayer would be chosen. He'd been entering his name several times in order to get supplies for him and his father. He didn't even remember how many times his name had been in there now. However, Fayer overreacted a lot. He probably had nothing to worry about! Still, a little archery practicing never hurt anyone. Besides, he was terrible at it. It was true that it needed work--a lot of work.
He secretly took the rusty, nearly broken bow-and-arrow from behind his tiny house. His father didn't like it when he used it without permission, which was why he never even had to know about it. Fayer didn't like to "steal", but sometimes, he had to. His father had become a completely different person since Fayer's mother and sister died. There would be several long moments of silence before his father would answer Fayer's question, which was discouraging; Fayer tended to ask a lot of questions. Sometimes, his father was completely unresponsive. It was very, very unusual behavior, and honestly, Fayer was quite worried about him.
He slipped out into the woods, carrying the weapon with him. Just in case he met some kind of threat (or just someone who decided ambushing was a good idea), he grabbed a knife too. He could actually fight with that, unlike the bow-and-arrow. Even with practice, he seemed hopeless at it.
Cracking little twigs underneath his feet as he trotted through the forest, he spotted a lizard on one of the nearest tree branches. His eyes widened as he got the arrow ready to shoot. He yanked it back and let go. Miraculously, it actually flew off. It didn't hit the lizard, but Fayer smiled and prepared another arrow. Maybe he could do this after all.
He sat down against a tree for a moment, and immediately, random thoughts entered his mind. Flashing scenes of things that happened so long ago, brightly colored buildings and animals--and even his mother holding the hand of Marie, his little sister. This all happened in less than a second. He could've sworn he was falling from some great height when he opened his eyes. He stood up, breathing heavily, and stared at the lizard who hadn't moved a muscle.

| The lunch in which Olivia had bought was good. But it still did not fill her. She ate well but nothing seemed to satify. She just wanted to live what rest of her life she had. She decided to take to a walk and clear her head. She did this often though not in the woods. The woods were the "heavy thinking zone". And now was the time. She stopped at a store and grabbed a bottle of her favoroit sprit and started towards the woods. She was about there when a man stopped her. But upon closer look he was about seventeen. He grabbed her arm and turned her around.
"Your the tribute aren't you."
He was trying to match the face but came up with nothing.
"Yes, I am. What are you going to do about."
He looked around and said
"I wanted to thank you."
Olivia looked around to see what he was looking for. Then looked crossly at him
"For what. Giving up my life. Yeah I am great aren't I."
She could tell that her sarcasm was not working. He still kept a firm face.
"Yes, I would like to thank you for saving my sister."
This caught her of guard. A boy carimg about his sister.
"I really don't know what your talking about. But catch you in twenty minutes at my house and we can discuss it there."
She just had to play around with some guys feelings one more time before meeting her maker.
He nodded took the piece paper with her house number on it and left. Leaving her to continue her walk.
The woods where cool and hushed. Except for this tapping like a wood pecker. She decided to check out what it was. She found a boy shooting at a tree. He was bad. But she could tell he was practicing. He was firing an arrow just as Olivia threw her knife. Cutting the arrow clean in two and landing in the center of the tree.
"Kid, you are going to have to do better than that."

| "Kid, you're going to have to do better than that." Said a girl's voice. Fayer shot upwards onto his feet and looked around, startled, until he locked eyes with another person. She couldn't've been too much older than Fayer himself, but she looked taller and possibly even a little stronger. But she wasn't threatening him, was she? She seemed to have sliced his arrow, so she was a bit intimidating.
"Oh yeah?" Fayer said snappishly, annoyed that she'd just barged in and distracted him from his practicing. The Games were going to be coming up soon, and at the slight chance that Fayer would be chosen, he needed to be somewhat prepared beforehand? "And what makes you think that you have the right to tell me that?" He didn't quite know why he was being so agitated with her; maybe just because too many stressful things were going on at once.
"If you think you know so much more than I do," Fayer challenged. "Then show me." Hopefully, she'd take him up on the offer and help him out a little besides, they were both from the same place. There was no reason why they couldn't get along. Fayer smiled slightly. "I'm Fayer, by the way."

| Tegan jumped out of her window, trying to get balance when her feet hit the ground. She crouched and avoided a pot being thrown. The screaming continued. "Don't you dare come back, you're fired!" her boss yelled and stuck his head out of the window. His pudgy face and the long mustache sent giggles through her body. "For your information, old man," she stood up, wiping the dirt from her face with her sleeve, "I didn't steal any of your food. Your pig of a son did." Then off she turned, running towards the fence.
Tegan crawled under the electric fence with care. From her experience with wires, she knew the right place to touch them without getting shocked. She grabbed her wires, knife, arrows, and her bow out of a carefully carved hole in a near by tree. Placing in her bag, she sprints off to her field.
"Are you, are you coming to the tree..." she sang softly, climbing up her hunting tree. This is the place she would come every day, looking for new game to come around. "Where they strung up a man they say murdered three. Strange things have happened here," she stroked the bark of the tree and stuck her knife into it, "no stranger would it be if we met up at midnight in the hanging tree..."
"I'm Fayer, by the way." she overheard. Tegan buckled her knees together and swung her body around, hanging upside down from her branch overlooking two people talking. Should she interrupt?

| "I am Olivia. If it means anything to you. Trust me kid, bows are not the way to go. Have you not watched the past hunger games. You have to kill your self just to get the bow. Go with knives. Lighter and easeir to carry."
The woods where cool in the evening it kinda made Olivia cold. Like the breeze was gripping her and would not let go. But this breeze had eyes peaking at the two of them.
"Are you aware that you where being watched?"
She made a hidden point to the figure behind them.
"Who knew that you where so popular."
She said dryly. "Are you gonna take care of it or am. Cause I can promise you if it's me there will be alot more blood."
